I teach a variety of photographic techniques, from basic photography, digital photography and Hawaii Photo Tours to more specialized creative techniques, including digital infrared photography, Polaroid /Fuji image transfers, Polaroid Emulsion transfers (Emulsion Lifts), digital inkjet decal transfers, handcoloring, beginning Photoshop for Photographers, creative Photoshop techniques, and fine art pigment inkjet printing.

Workshops are offered as one to seven day courses. I usually teach one process or technique per day, depending on the topic of the course and the interests of the participants. These are hands-on workshops, and after a presentation and demonstration of basic techniques, participants have the rest of each day to practice what they've learned. Enrollment is limited so that each participant can receive individual attention.

Further explorations workshops are available for those who want to expand their experience by learning more advanced techniques. These topics include Photoshop and digital camera techniques, Polaroid/Fuji transfers, working with alternate surfaces such as fabric, handmade paper, wood, tile (and virtually anything for emulsion transfers), and handcoloring.

The Women's Photography Retreats are for women who want to explore their creativity, learn new techniques, and photograph special places on the Big Island in a small and very supportive group setting. These Retreats are limited to six women, and early registration is advised. Retreats for men and women are also available.

Hawaii photo tours have a maximum of six people, and because of the small number, you’ll be able to get personal instruction at the different sites. The focus is on making photographs. Custom photo tours can be arranged for when you are already coming to Hawaii, and can be from several hours to several days.

Private sessions can be scheduled for any topic that I teach, from beginning to advanced levels. Private sessions will be usually be held in my studio in Captain Cook, Hawaii. If I'm teaching or traveling, a session can be arranged for before or after a scheduled workshop in another location. Please contact me to set up the details.
